The Future Flows

THROUGH US

Harnessing bio-electrochemical innovation to turn wastewater into energy and opportunity

our Vision

Final_2-01_vector (1).png

To make wastewater treatment resilient, affordable, and energy-efficient through pioneering bio-electrochemical technologies that safeguard the environment and empower communities and industries alike.

why Wastewater Fuels

01

Mindset

We recognise today’s wastewater treatment limits our collective potential. Trade-offs between expensive energy costs and land usage impact on growing communities and industries. We strive to produce solutions that change our view of wastewater and the burden it is to you.

02

Cutting-Edge Technology

Our lightweight, modular and scalable solutions are designed for both on-grid and off-grid applications. We focus on minimising the expensive aeration of wastewater, whilst retaining the benefits this 100-year-old technology has provided. Our bio-electrochemical technologies will supercharge your treatment process.

03

Resilience

We live in a volatile world. Trade routes are changing, energy prices are spiking, and regulations are diverging. Our bio-electrochemical solutions disconnect your wastewater treatment from the headwinds that affect energy intensive technologies and create uncertainty in your business plans.

Renewable Fuels

Whether you use Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA), Fischer–Tropsch (FT), Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ), Power-to-Liquids (PtL) or Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL), wastewater treatment impacts the bottom line. It’s time to find out how you can minimise your costs to gain a competitive advantage.

Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems

Decentralised wastewater treatment has provided positive societal benefits and minimised expensive and long duration infrastructure projects. Thousands of these plants need upgrading to achieve modern standards or cope with a higher capacity. Find out how you can do that without needing high voltage powerlines and expensive aeration.

Testimonials

Tap water plant
TSP led the 2021 pre-seed when Wastewater Fuels  was little more than a bright idea and some interesting lab results. The management proceeded to not only deliver their tech milestones but exceed them; and they did this on time and on budget. Consequently TSP did not hesitate to lead the seed round in 2024. Since then all milestones have been achieved with utterly compelling results shown in their TRL 7 field pilot plant. We fully expect to participate in the 2026 Series A round.

TSP VENTURES

I'm delighted to see Wastewater Fuels go from strength to strength. From doctoral studies here at WMG, Dr Dan Carlotta-Jones and his team have developed technology that can turn waste into energy in an effective way.  The potential is game-changing - for people and for planet. That focus on positive impact, on applying science to global problems, is a part of WMG's DNA and I'm looking forward to our continued collaboration.

Prof. Kerry Kirwan

Dean of Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG)

At Severn Trent, we are passionate about extracting valuable resources from our wastewater treatment operations. Wastewater Fuel’s innovative route to energy recovery from wastewater, shows real potential. They bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach to our trials with them, and it's been encouraging to see their commitment to driving change in the sector.
